from the large window frames of my bedroom
where blue lights glowed
never bright enough to reach the sky of night
the infantile crescent rested amongst the stars
silently on the eve of eid
beautiful as the stars are
my curiosity kept me awake
as i wonder
if some of the twinkling stars
had expired in history
in reality
wherelse my own reality says the stars are still there
i keep wondering
