A Weekend Of All Sorts

this weekend has gotta be the most filled up saturday-sunday weekend!

did my very first back-breaking boxercise class after 3 years of absentia. fofoa the samoan boxercise instructor took a dig at me when he saw me outside the studio before the class began.

fofoa: so dean, you're back aye?

me: yeap... after 3 years

fofoa: yeah i can see that, it looks like you have a 3 kilometres worth of waist happening there...

me: bastard...

fofoa: that's me alright... now get your arse back to your spot, we've some serious cardio for you to pick up all over again! move! move! move!

i survived the class, even more determined than ever to go for more boxercise classes (gees, i wanna get addicted to boxercise all over again!)

then it was late lunch and tea with dora, felicia and david at foster's in the village.

and since i'm counting calories in my 'must lose weight' hyperdrive effort, i ordered the nicoise salad - i.e. tuna, and lotsa raw yucky green leaves

while david was all eased up ordering real food from the menu... although the man is gonna run several marathons coming up this year... fit people have it good all the time... blaaah!

and the rest of them did partake unto scones and cakes while i watched them at it...

so very within my reach... so very very within my reach... but oh well, i'm not the one getting fat anyway, so screw the scones and cakes!

later in the evening, mr mark chan who's back from shanghai for his coming performance in the upcoming singapore arts festival had me over for a tete-a-tete at his place...

over...

cuban cigars and strong java... heaven!

while mark was on seventh heaven on cuban cigars and coffee...

i was on the 80th heaven...

nice...

after that, wei came and picked me up to go to zouk's wine bar for...

lynda's sweet 16 birthday party!!!

happy birthday girlfriend!!!

after several pints of guinness draught later, it is evident that alcohol proves to be an effective skin refresher compared to botox.

barely 1am, the sleepy bug got me and we went home to slumberland...

we woke up the next morning and wei's first words in bed were, "i'm hungry"

"ditto"
, said i.

we drove to adam road hawker centre at 9am...

where i ordered soto ayam (very healthy wor!)

and wei appeared blissed tucking into mee rebus

we hit the gym later in the afternoon after a long siesta. as i walked out of the gym after working out, a 'once-a-month' sight on orchard road greeted me...

the march past along orchard road for the changing of guards at the presidential istana

men in fitted uniforms... drool...

after saying goodbye to wei, i took a walk along orchard road to borders bookstore where i wanted to get lynda her birthday present and to meet alex for dinner.

street buskers; they call themselves 'samba masala'. pretty neat percussion beats they drummed up... although they aren't as funky as wicked aura batucada. perhaps samba masala needs the to-drool-for hunks factor like wicked aura batucada has.

like a moth to a flame, i felt the strong pull of something very luxe...

chanel had revamped their store's facade... uber nice!

and tang's store glitzy proclamation on turning 75 this year

after dinner, alex and i rounded up the evening with shopping! i so needed retail therapy big time considering depressing manic monday is looming.

foowah! you damn hemsem boy wor!!!

monday coming liao... nabey...
